As a young girl, Ann's mentors were her teachers.  She loved every teacher she ever had.  Their endless work and untiring ways of teaching inspired her to want to become a teacher.  In college many of her professors impressed her with their dedication to their areas of expertise. What she loved about all of them was their deep interest in books, reading, learning and teaching.

Ann writes for two reasons.  One, because it is a way for her to share information she believes many people want to know about.  Her speech pathology writings have influenced young adults to become speech pathologists.  She has helped others start their own practice in this field through her first book,  On Your Own.  Her second book, Teach Me To Talk,  appeals to a wider range of readers because it deals with basic human conditions.  Ann also writes for her own personal satisfaction.  There is no better feeling than letting her fingers flow to the movement of a pencil, or pen on a blank sheet of paper.  She often surprises herself when she re-reads her own writing at a later date.  She once read somewhere that “writing is a form of prayer.”  For her, this is true.
